American Crow

Judged by human standards, crows are perhaps the most intelligent of birds.  They can count at least to three or four; they quickly learn new information; they appear to have a complex language and well-developed social structure.

North America has three kinds, the American Crow and two smaller species usually found near the shore, the Northwestern and the Fish Crow.

The Common Raven, larger birds with wedge-shaped tails, are sometimes mistaken for crows.
