Butterflies

Silly birds.  Arguing about who is the bluest.  Good thing we're a little more sensible and a lot more colorful.

Chirping crickets, spectacularly patterned butterflies, and round little ladybird beetles need no kind words to enhance their appeal.
The world of insects has attractions beyond these familiar favorites. Their very number and diversity -- more than a hundred thousand in North America alone -- are astounding.
