Downey Woodpecker

You bet I'm sharp.  There's nothing sharper than my bill, which I use to catch borers, surface insects and some vegetation.  

Compared to other woodpeckers, I am pretty friendly, easily attracted to feeders and tame.  I frequently travel in mixed flocks with chickadees, nuthatches, kinglets, and Brown Creepers.

I may have even visited your yard.
