Tree Frog

Appreciating amphibians and reptiles begins with a fondness for friendly turtle or long-legged frog.  And as unknowns become knowns, apprehension is transformed into genuine admiration.

Meet Freddie Frog.  Freddie has been chosen by the Georgia Legislature as Georgia's Official Frog.  Equipped with large suction pads at the tips of their toes, treefrogs have the ability to climb vertical surfaces. Most adults can change their color in response to variations in temperature, light or humidity.  Perched on vegetation near water, the males sing loudly at night or on cloudy, rainy days in the spring.  Their calls are clear and melodious.

Freddie is best enjoyed out-of-doors.  Treefrogs require live insect food and a good deal of care to survive for any length of time in an artificial environment.
