Pileated Woodpecker

P. W., here.  Me and the Mrs. are about the biggest woodpeckers you'll ever see.  We're getting use to the suburbs and occasionally visit New York City.

Our cousin, the Ivory-billed Woodpecker, is missing.  Have you seen him?  Presumed extinct, some sightings have been reported in the southeast.

He has a black throat, white patches in front and back of wings in flight and a conspicuous large, white patch at rest.  If you should see him, document the sighting with a photograph and call the Audubon Society.
